Simplyhealth donates £150,000 between three charities
The UK’s leading health solutions provider is supporting those in need this winter
The cost-of-living crisis is having a devastating impact on thousands of families and individuals across the UK. This festive season Simplyhealth wanted to support three amazing charities, The Trussell Trust, Crisis and Rainbow Trust, to help them continue the incredible work they do.
At Simplyhealth, we’ve never answered to shareholders, instead we reinvest our profits into helping our customers access the healthcare they need and supporting our communities.
For three weeks we invited people to vote to help us decide how to divide £150,000 between the three charities. These donations will go towards supporting and transforming the lives of those these incredible charities help. From a hot meal and place to stay, to financial support, powering life-saving equipment and money towards weekly groceries, every penny donated will help someone in need this winter.
We received almost 12,000 votes, which have all been counted and we are now pleased to share how the £150,000 will be divided between The Trussell Trust, Crisis and Rainbow Trust.
Rainbow Trust have received £64,500
We are delighted to be chosen as one of the beneficiaries of Simplyhealth’s Christmas campaign. Your support will help ensure families with a seriously ill child receive the vital practical and emotional support they so desperately need. Simplyhealth’s support is particularly valuable at a time when Rainbow Trust is very concerned about the increased financial burden of the cost-of-living crisis on families caring for a seriously ill child. Families are having to choose between paying electricity bills to keep life-saving equipment running, putting food on the table, or paying for transport to and from hospital. With Simplyhealth’s support, we can continue to support families through this very difficult time.

Crisis have received £54,000
We are absolutely delighted to have the support of Simplyhealth at such a critical time. As we approach Christmas, the situation facing homelessness services is particularly challenging. Temperatures are dropping and the reality of the cost of living emergency is really beginning to bite.
Simplyhealth’s generous donation will make a big difference as we start to open our Christmas services. This year, we’ll be accommodating over 400 people who would otherwise be sleeping rough in hotels across London. We’ll also be supporting thousands of people in insecure living situations across Britain, providing food, company, and access to healthcare. We are so grateful to Simplyhealth for standing with people facing homelessness this Christmas.
Matt Downie, Chief Executive of Crisis
Trussell Trust have received £31,500
We are very grateful to the team at Simplyhealth and everyone who voted for the Trussell Trust for your incredible support. The soaring cost of living means more and more people are likely to need a food bank’s help this winter, and teams are working tirelessly to ensure help continues to be available. But ultimately, no one in the UK should need a food bank – all of us should have enough money for the essentials like food, clothing and heating. Your support will help food banks within our network continue to provide the lifeline of emergency support for local people in crisis, while we work in the long term to end the need for food banks, for good. Thank you so much.
Sophie Carre, Head of Corporate Partnerships at the Trussell Trust
Simplyhealth is a purpose-led company, we were created for the good of society and with the increasing cost-of-living crisis, we wanted to support those who really needed it this winter. We are grateful to all those who have voted and are pleased to be able to make donations to each of these incredible charities.
