A ‘Winter Warm Up’ fundraising campaign from Simplyhealth raises funds for local care homes

Staff at Simplyhealth have been fundraising to support local and national charities during the Coronavirus pandemic, with their most recent fundraising activity in December to support Brendoncare care homes and their activity clubs across the South.

Across ten days, Simplyhealth staff have been taking part in daily challenges as part of their Winter Warm Up fundraising campaign. Tasks included sharing images of Christmas decorations using recycled materials, colouring in for mindfulness and going for winter walks. For each activity shared internally to colleagues, Simplyhealth unlock a £5 donation for Brendoncare. Over ten days, Simplyhealth staff raised an amazing £5,000.

We are delighted to be able to support Brendoncare this Christmas through our staff community fundraising. Particularly this year, care homes have been under a lot of pressure, so to bring some Christmas cheer is exactly what we are all about at Simplyhealth.

Simplyhealth staff have also been writing Christmas cards to residents at Brendoncare care homes. This festive project will bring Simplyhealth staff together with Brendoncare’s care home and Mews residents. A card through the post can really brighten a resident’s day, bringing some festive cheer. It’s an opportunity for Simplyhealth staff to let Brendoncare residents know they’re thinking of them this Christmas, especially after the challenges of this year.

We’re absolutely delighted with this wonderful donation and continued support from our neighbours in Winchester, Simplyheath.

Well done to the team for organising such a successful and creative fundraising campaign. The funds raised will have a huge impact on the lives of older people living locally in our communities this winter. Our residents will be so happy to receive their Christmas cards too.
