Simplyhealth partners with the Woodland Trust to urge customers to go paperless

To help create healthier natural environments for communities

  • Simplyhealth has allocated a £250,000 charitable donation to the Woodland Trust to incentivise its customers to move to digital, paperless service options, to improve customer experiences and enable access to their expanding range of digital health services and online tools.

  • With their customers’ support, the collaboration will see Simplyhealth fund Free School and Community Tree Packs, helping the Woodland Trust’s mission to give away hundreds of thousands of trees to communities every year.

  • The partnership supports the aligned visions of both organisations of supporting a healthier UK, where woods and trees thrive for people and nature.

Tuesday 11th February 2025 - Simplyhealth has today announced a £250,000 collaboration with the Woodland Trust, the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity.

Launched in September 2024, Simplyhealth’s charity campaign is aimed at encouraging customers of its Simplyhealth and Denplan products to move away from paper-based communications and enjoy the benefits of going digital such as access to customer support 24/7, 365 days per year,  and quicker, more reliable updates, all shared in a way that supports our natural environment.

With an expanding range of digital health services, such as Simplyhealth’s new Digital Mental Health service, Digital Dermatology Consultations and virtual women’s health-focused GPs, access to healthcare is simple, accessible and affordable through Simplyhealth’s health plans.

Their world-leading AI-powered customer experiences have transformed how Simplyhealth customers are supported, while at the same time ensuring their business is ready for a digital-first future.

A key part of their digital-first strategy is to enable and encourage as many existing customers as possible to benefit from their new digital services and quicker, more reliable customer experiences.

For every email address registered during their ‘Go Digital’ campaign, as a thank you Simplyhealth is donating to the Woodland Trust, funding their Free School and Community Tree Packs. Donations of £5 will be made for individual Simplyhealth customers, £500 for Corporate customers and £1 for Denplan patients.

By 31 December 2024, over the first four months of the campaign, 43,545 Simplyhealth and Denplan customers had registered their email addresses, delivering a £75,101 donation. Following this initial strong start, the campaign has been extended to 30 June 2025.

Every year the Woodland Trust gives away hundreds of thousands of free trees to schools and community groups who want to go green and create a healthier natural environment for everyone. The UK needs millions more trees to reach its 2050 carbon net-zero target.

Simplyhealth is supporting the Woodland Trust’s mission to ensure that everybody in the UK has a chance to plant a tree, bringing us nearer to this important goal.

Any education setting such as a school, nursery, college, university or outdoor learning centre can apply for and benefit from the Woodland Trust’s free trees. Applications are welcome from community groups, such as resident associations, sports clubs, parish councils, scouts, guides and many more. There are different tree pack sizes and tree species available for to suit all spaces, with the trees supplied sourced and grown in the UK and Ireland.

Simplyhealth’s support for our Free Trees scheme will make a significant impact on communities nationwide, and we’re delighted to welcome them as a partner. Their generous donation will enable the Woodland Trust to provide thousands of young people and local communities with the opportunity to plant a tree, inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards and contributing to vital UK tree cover targets.
